Why is it so Important to be Spontaneous?
Each of us possesses a strong creative ability. Life is a process of creation and discovery. Color, line and metaphor provide a subtle language that we can access at any time. Our souls speak to us in imagery and through symbolism in dreams,
in our daily lives, and through the act of spontaneous image making.
Come explore three day's of tapping into your intuitive impulses, and bridging trust with your instinctual responses to art making. Lauren facilitates individual engagement using innovative techniques such as idea-generating exercises, and visualizations that break through self-imposed barriers.
In a safe and playful environment Lauren leads participants into authentic engagement with the act of making.
Through demos, and process we will explore mark-making, paint, collage, wax, and handmade gesso. This is an excellent workshop for those seeking to expand their art practice and stimulate their hidden muse.

Over the years Lauren Mantecón’s subject matter has ranged from body politics and identity, to a search for earthly substance connecting with nature and the sublime.
Lauren holds a B.A in Photography and an M.F.A in Painting.
She has been the recipient of painting fellowships, including Djerassi Resident Artists Program, Jentel, and Sitka Center For Art and Ecology.
She has taught in the past at Portland State University, University Of Portland, Portland Community College as an Adjunct Professor of Art. She has conducting art residencies and workshops to many diverse populations that include homeless and challenged youth, and art centers around the country.
Lauren currently resides in Portland Oregon.

When registering for a workshop with exPRESSive Arts Studio, whether online or via mailed registration form, participant agrees to the terms below.
WAIVER OF LIABILITY & REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICIES
LAST DAY TO WITHDRAW WITH REFUND (minus a $75 processing fee) is 30 days prior to workshop. After this time no refund can be given unless the workshop is completely filled. Minimum enrollment varies.
If minimum enrollment is not met (this rarely happens), you will be notified immediately following the 30 day mark and full refund will be made. However, no discounts or refunds can be given for your late arrival or early departure. Under no circumstances are we responsible for your non refundable hotel or airline charges, so you may want to wait until this time to make plane reservations. Applicable refunds are made within four weeks.
Liability Waiver: The below named participant, on behalf of himself or herself, and all agents, employees, assignees, administrators, or executors, hereby releases, discharges, and waives all claims of liability against exPRESSive Arts Studio, Karon Leigh, The Amado Territory Ranch and/or their employees for any injuries, damages, or loss of any kind that might be sustained while participating in any workshop through exPRESSive Arts Studio, or for any health condition, new or preexisting, that might develop or be affected or aggravated as a result of participation. We can not reduce or waive these terms in the event of circumstances beyond our control such as illness, flight cancellations, war, terrorist attacks, injury or death, natural disaster, or force majeure. If, for reasons beyond our control, we are forced to cancel the workshop, we will do our best to provide a suitable alternative within the year. If any sentence of this agreement is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance thereof shall continue in full legal force and effect.
